Overview
The Level 5 Diploma in Early Childhood Education is an advanced vocational qualification at RQF Level 5. It is designed for practitioners who already hold a relevant Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) and who aim to take on leadership, specialist or management responsibilities within early -year settings. For example, the version by OTHM develops understanding in advanced topics of child development, pedagogical practice and inclusive early years environments.
Do You Need to Be Working to Take This Qualification?
Learners are not required to be employed in an early year or childcare setting to undertake the Level 5 Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Equivalences
Level 5 Diploma qualifications represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
